Kayla Coleman is terminal. Stage four thyroid cancer that now covers her whole body. She is unable to leave her hospital bed in Toronto. Some days, she loses consciousness. She is fed through a tube in her stomach and hydrated through her IV bag, since her cancer has left her unable to swallow. Her life is what some would call, pathetic. Kayla's boyfriend Remington is always at her side. Rather on the days she's aware of her surroundings and able to communicate, the days she's unconscious most of the time, or the days she's comatose....he never fails to be there for the love of his life. Some days, he just does classwork on his computer and holds her hand....but his presence is appreciated, even though Kayla does not always have the ability to express so. Remington, as well as Kayla's family, must cope with the fact that their time with their loved one is limited. Death stalks Kayla like a predator watching its prey....it is simply creeping closer and closer waiting for the chance to strike. Death has struck Kayla a few times already....on the operating table, in an elevator, while being held by Remington. It is only a matter of time before she is gone for good. Her family, especially her boyfriend, are determined to make the most of her final earthly days. Because with Kayla....they never know when her time expires. There is no prediction for when she will leave this world; so they must treat every day as though it's her last. They're trying to give Kayla the world from her lonely hospital bed.

Thyroid goiters can cause discomfort, breathing issues, and cosmetic concerns, making effective treatment essential. While surgical thyroidectomy has long been the standard approach, thyroid goiter embolization is gaining attention as a minimally invasive alternative. This advanced procedure works by selectively reducing the blood supply to the thyroid, helping shrink the goiter while preserving thyroid function. Unlike surgery, embolization typically involves shorter recovery time, minimal scarring, and a lower risk of complications such as infection or vocal cord damage. It is also a valuable option for high-risk or elderly patients who may not be suitable for surgery. Many patients experience significant symptom relief, improved comfort, and faster return to daily life. For those exploring modern, patient-centred thyroid treatments, embolization represents a promising option worth considering. 👉 Read the full blog here: https://cvithyroidcenter.com/thyroid-goiter-embolization-thyroidectomy/

Ally is a YouTuber- a well known one with over three million subscribers and friends in every place you could imagine. People loved her for how genuine she was and never hid her bad parts of life away from the people. She was what people wanted. She was what girls wanted to be and what boys dreamed could be theirs. Except that she was a lesbian. And then was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. (I know there are a LOT more cancers out there but for this story it'll be thyroid cancer)

A mixed media book (poetry, vignettes, etc.) based on my personal struggles and conquering of my chronic illnesses. I live with Rheumatoid Arthritis, endometriosis, chronic migraines, and hypothyroidism. I am hoping to spread more awareness of these illnesses, but also to share with others who possibly have the same-we're out here, too.
