Silvers pass down their abilities from the father to the child, except for a rare occurrence where a child inherits the mother's abilities instead. Leonara Calore III is the daughter of Tiberias Calore VII and Coriane Jacos. She is the elder sister of Tiberias Calore VIII, the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Norta. Leonara is the first case of a descendant of House Calore to inherit her mother's abilities instead of her father's. Due to the fact that she is not a burner, she cannot wear the Nortan crown, which means her brother, Cal, is the heir to the throne. As there is no precedent of Leonara's situation, she is sent to her uncle, Julian Jacos, to be raised as a member of the House Jacos until she is of age to marry. Afterwhich, she will retain her title as Princess Leonara Calore III until she is wed. Original characters and plot belong to Victoria Aveyard. The story will be loosely based on the events that follow in Red Queen, the first book of the series. The story follows Leonara Calore III, so there will be less focus on the more well known characters.

I stay in my place on the cold ground, waiting to see how he responds. He stops right in front of me, crouching down. He puts a hand out to push the hair out of my face and I let him. He is oddly gentle and an unreadable expression takes over his face. "Of course I do," he finally says, an inkling of pain on his pale face. "And I can have you live." This is my take on what would have happened if Mare chose Maven in the Bowl of Bones.
