Money.... Lots of lovely money & it's all free! What would you do if, just by chance, you happened to stumble upon a Lottery Ticket which someone had lost? Take it home, watch the numbers come up and.... The ticket you found, say laying in the park, has all the winning numbers???? You've won this week's jackpot! So what do you do? Do you tell the truth?? Well someone bought it and someone lost it, but they do not know, no one knows - only you. So what would you do with "THE LOTTERY TICKET"?
My German teacher got me to translate "Die Stern Taller" by the Brother's Grimm. I was so impressed by the way that they had written such a short story that had so engaged my thinking, that I decided to try to create a story that would do the same to its readers. The Lottery is a subtle form of control & I really do not like Camelot in the UK who run it. Also, I really do not like the newspapers. In this story they both get ripped off & so does the tax man; apart from that it is a 'Win-Win situation' for everyone else. I tried to keep the story length down to 75% of an A4 page.
