The Doctor knew he wasn't supposed to fall in love. He was a Time Lord, the last one. They always looked down on interspecies relationships. Then why was he crying? Over a dead body? Katherine the Time Lord died on Satalite 5 in a battle between Humans and Daleks. The Daleks shot her down before she could regenerate, so she was properly dead. That's why she couldn't explain why she suddenly woke up, along with her equally dead human friend Captain Jack Harkness, and regenerated in the middle of a corridor. And also why the Doctor had broken his promise to never leave her behind. She suspected he had gone back to Earth to get Rose, so she hitched a ride with Captain Jack's Vortex manipulator and headed back to London. Too far back. She found the Doctor on the verge of his regeneration...only not the one that she had left behind. First she accidentally ran away...now she's accidentally skipped a Doctor. What's next?

The drama unfolds as Cal trains to take on the role of leader as multiple jump agencies try and stop her. Cal stumbles onto the world of Bounty Hunters within the jump agencies and makes friends with the one Jump agency that befriends no one. Astrid and Mauve go head-to-head, and Cal gets caught in the middle of their feud again... but this time, Cal has to choose sides.
