During the course of the training Marinette meets Damian Wayne the former Robin currently known as the vigilante Shadow Knight. Damian falls in love with Marinette after seeing her take down a villain during their first mission where they are paired. Marinette has a deep respect and is amazed by the skills and raw power displayed by Damian's alter ego when he protects her during her first visit to Gotham during which she crushes on his alter ego.
