Jon wants to approach him but doesn't know how without Martin feeling like he doesn't trust him. But Jon feels like he doesn't have a choice once he sees how little Martin is taking care of himself. Before the start of the series, Light starts noticing his neighbor across the street has been acting strange, becoming scared of noises that have been in the neighborhood for years. One night Light notices a weird pipe hanging off of the man's house and a fear of not knowing what is happening growing day by day. . . . . . Tim wants to know what went wrong. What he did wrong. Why was there an ocean of distance, What did he forget? Not!Sasha makes Tim question everything.

"But it was more than Loneliness, wasn't it, Martin? It was terror, too. Don't you remember how that terror felt? Feel it again. Feed on it." Or, Peter Lukas imposes the Lonely onto Martin.
