Twenty-one years ago, I was born. Daughter of Hodge Starkweather and Amaury Herondale. Fourteen years ago, we live in a prestigious manor in Alicante held by the Herondales. My mother died when I was five, two years after the Uprising. My father took part in the Rebellion (that much I know). After a long review of his involvement, he was punished to be exiled to the New York Institute, cursed to never be able to leave its local grounds. There we met the Lightwoods and later, their adoptive son, Jace. My father became our mentor. He trained us how to fight, teach us strategies, and guide us through every missions. Alec, Izzy, Jace, and I became team, together with the newest member of our group - my distant cousin, Lei Montclaire. The five of us go through every mission. Over the years of training and growing together, Izzy became my parabatai, so does Alec and Jace. Determine to uphold the Herondale name, to clean my father's name, and help him gain his freedom... This book takes place after City of heavenly fire and before Lady Midnight. Lucas Brooke is not your average man. Not at all, especially when you live in a secret world full of demons and vampires that everyone calls downworlders. You might wonder why he knows this. Well, he, himself is a downworlder. He is a lycanthrope, otherwise known as a werewolf. Lucas has never been normal, he can't even be a normal werewolf. The problem is, werewolves work in packs with an alpha, some beta's and any other wolves. Lucas is none of these, he is an ex-shadowhunter turned werewolf. Because of this Lucas couldn't accept himself. Along with orginally being a shadowhunter when Lucas was turned he wasn't a normal wolf. Because of his ex-shadowhunter status he wasn't accepted by the werewolf kind thus leading him to becoming the first and only omega werewolf in history. It was said that only the strongest could survive without a pack,they will go crazy if they aren't strong enough. The stronger the person, the stronger the omega is. An omega is extremely rare, they have the strength, speed, size, power and ability to be an alpha sometimes said to have more power all together. They could become an alpha if they bit someone and started a pack, but Lucas would never do that, not unless it was life or death. So Lucas continued his life as an omega, a lone wolf. He kept this a closely guarded secrect though, only his parents knew and they took that secret to the grave. Not only would he be feared by his own kind, but by all the other supernatural and shadowhunters alike.
