During Sonic's 15th birthday (I headcanon him 14 before Generations) the giant monster sucks all of Sonic's friends in, leaving Sonic to escape this madness. Sonic and Leo encounter each other at some time and free Amy, Knuckles, Tails and the rest of the Turtles, only to meet the mobians' past selves. Now the Sonics, the Turtles and their allies team up to defeat the Time Eater before it destroys time and space and through dimensions.
