Everything's not even close to the same and the cure for the flare, well, just read the story. there are some possible light references to the original book and movie so just expect references here and there. The cure was found, but they told the parents that they would have to be there for a good eight years or until they were teenagers so, they decide to keep most of the kids and teenagers in one area. Now you may think Teresa is with are great and silly protagonist aka the main character but no. She actually wasn't needed for the cure anymore, she convinced wicked to do a different test.
