"What do we do?"
"I-" I pause. "I'm not entirely sure. I don't know when they'll strike."
He takes my hand and leads me to his bed. There's no thrum of anticipation or shiver of fear; it is just an action. Six. I am Six. I am Six and he is Four.
"We need to destroy those serums and the prints so they can't make more."
It's silly to think that there's a recipe for war, but this serum would be it.
An idea is building in my head.
It is ironic that I need to be selfless to save hundreds of people - and selflessness does not come easy to me.
I turn to Tobias, one leg folded on the bed between us. "If they ask again, will you accept a leadership position?"
"If Dauntless leader is where you want me, then, yes, I will accept," he says.
I sigh. It's not often I do, but I do so now with relief. "Good," I say. "Then I know how we're going to stop them."
