The 2022-2023 Film Journal continues with this fifty-eighth entry, "Spawn". Here, I detail my long-history with creator Todd McFarlane's significant but monumentally frustrating character and how the picture stands on its own.

Imagine yourself, been told to commit suicide because you don't have a Quirk or been murdered in an act of betrayal, only to be saved and reborn as the newest Hellspawn, by Malebolgia, the ruler of the 8th Sphere of Hell, you were tasked in order to fulfill your undying quest for vengeance against the ones who've wronged you after you've made a deal with Malebolgia to serve as his own right-hand man, personal executioner, and adoptive son, alongside with your friend and brother, Ghost Rider. However, when Malebolgia has sent you, along with your friend/brother to the living world to hunt down any wicked souls such as villains alike, both you and Ghost Rider have ended up as accidentally earn the Pro-Heroes' attention and eventually enrolled to U.A. High School, will you be willing to either become the world's newest heroes or will your undying grudge could have catastrophic results, especially both the world and society to eternal damnation. My name is Izuku Midoriya, and I'm the newest Hellspawn, along with my sworn brother and friend, Tony McRonald, or better known as the newest Ghost Rider. And this is what happens if you were to make the choice: whether it's justice or vengeance...

Izuku Midoriya is an aspiring hero in a world full of people with powers. In this super powered world he meets someone truly extraordinary. With no memories and no idea who or what he is this troubled soul finds a home with this young hero and his mother. But his very existence comes with trials and pain that may just break everything around him. And the only name he knows is one that brings death and pain, Hell Spawn.
