When Fatima is met with a life-shattering struggle, and a devastating past, would she be able to pull through-or would she remain the same? After what Fatima witnessed in her past, she no longer believes in love or trust. ESPECIALLY TRUST! Would her life change after meeting someone very charming, funny, and lovely-or would she look past him? This is a journey where heartbreak meets hope, pain battles courage, and the past fights to shape the future. It's a story of finding light in the darkest corners, discovering strength when everything seems lost, and learning that sometimes, love finds you when you least expect it. Counting has always been my thing. Counting the beats, the minutes, the steps, the days, even the cars that passed by while I waited outside the train station. Even when I was little I was constantly counting, how many tosses the jugglers were able to get in, to how many cookies I could sneak before my mother returned to check on me in our trailer. Counting was my thing, it was what I was best at. I did it at home, at the circus, at school and even when I was walking. It was how I got through things, even if I did it without noticing. I had become so accustomed to it, that I was shocked when one simple glance, from a boy who was hidden away in a place I had claimed as mine as a child, ended it. I didn't know what I was counting at the time, or what number I was on, but something inside me told me to stop, and that's what happened.

Everyone has a hidden bitter story to tell behind all the happy face on the surface but hers had always been a hard one, an unimaginable story nobody would've ever thought she went through all her life and she never voiced it out because even if she did, nobody understood her so she always turned back to her Lord for help. He is the One testing her after all and she knew that at the end of every dark tunnel was a light shining so bright everyone would be eager to reach but patience was the only weapon needed to fight that darkness and so she always held on to that. Always fighting back every darkness that came her way with so much courage and deep down in her heart she nursed a little hope and faith that her journey would soon be over and everything would be worth it. She kept on living.

As you know from my writing my novels in the Starlet Series, I'm happy. When I lived in Santa Monica among celebrities, many asked what was my secret to smiling every day. "Acceptance," I would say. I'm an imperfect person who married an imperfect man 18 years ago who I've known as an imperfect friend since high school 27 flawed years ago. I love him. I love me. I love our kids and family. Perfection is impossible. Donuts taste good. Excercise is fun. We all make mistakes and move on. Amen. Thanks for reading ;-) Copyright 2013 by Carla Hanna --- The Starlet Series by Carla Hanna, author of young adult romance and coming of age fiction Starlet's Web | Starlet's Run | Starlet's Light | Starlet's Man

While riding a public bus to school, young Mia discovered a tree that had always been there, and despite her visiting that road regularly, she only noticed it that day for the first time. While she tried to remember any detail about the tree the bus reached her school and she had to stop thinking about the unannounced, mysterious appearance of the tree. A strange chain of events happen in Mia's life who is an adolescent. The events show themselves in such a way that the young teen is misunderstood, and under pressure of the circumstances alongside losing herself, she also misunderstands people around her. A quest to search for her true self, WHO she really is is the subject or the theme around which this short story revolves. The tale tells of the convoluted period of life of a young girl, who is exposed to the complex world outside, a little too early without proper armor (preparation). As she tries to explain things in her way, they get more tangled and convoluted, while she faces the mistreatment of her seniors.
