From the corner of my eyes I see two more disgusting vermins approaching another elf. He was too occupied to even noticed them. Without thinking I raced towards him and pierce each of their hearts. "So close yet, so far." I let their corpse fall to my feet. He turned around slowly and as he turned, it seemed as though the world has stopped and it was just us. I was breathless, he looked like a God. His silver hair seemed to shine in this darkness, his armor made him look untouchable. He has the most beautiful sapphire eyes I've ever seen, they look at me with longing and pain. I was trying to understand why that is until.... Along the banks of the braided Hornewood River lies Southbend, a small town home to river and forest folk alike. Well, maybe village is a better word? I don't know, I just live here. And right now I have more to worry about than being pedantic. My father sits and stares out the window all day, ill with his grief, my brothers run around harassing the people in town all day, I am perpetually covered in mud and paint, and Amand keeps pulling me up the mountain--into the woods--on his crazy day adventures. I wouldn't mind it if I didn't know what he was really after. The spirits and creatures of the wood and river can be beautiful, ethereal, magical. They twinkle and dance and sing as they ride on the wind or play in the trees. Others--the ones I know he's REALLY after--are not so friendly. At least, that's what the elders say and what the whispers around town are saying. Why can't he just hunt rabbits, like a normal Lightfoot?

I think Faramir and Boromir share a wonderful bond. I have sketched up a little something on that. I have always wanted to read a fanfic of these two but, couldn't find any. There is something so beautiful when you see where the brothers started and how the navigated through life. Yet they both faced tragedies in very different ways. This story takes place before the the Lord of The rings, accounting the lives of the sons of Denethor, Steward of Gondor and what fared in later on for Faramir.
