Tom believes that his love for Star is eternal, as he asks her to the blood moon ball. At the dance, he never gets his dance with star, the dance that was meant for them. He instead got to dance with a boy in a skull mask and a sombrero. At that moment, he questions his love for star, and finds another eternal love.
