story extended from my "Neon Flesh" one shot "Torchie" - this fanfic includes back stories and goes more in depth on the one shot. (And I also changed a few details) Torchbearer had already been through so much. Every Clancy he'd met, gave in to the cycle and even though he'd never been friends with any of them, it broke his heart every time. then one night, he met HIS Clancy. A Clancy so traumatized from whatever he'd seen in Dema, that he never spoke. he didn't even nod his head, and he clung only to torchbearer, who decided he would take care of him. and guide him through his journey. Torchbearer wanted so badly to hear what this Clancy had to say, and soon found himself catching feelings. ***Disclaimer: this story talks about trauma, death, SH, and smut.... Also I'm aware this isn't perfectly lore accurate, I wanted to have some fun with it :)***

Clancy and Torchbearer are best friends... right?

Similar to Clancy, the Torchbearer had his own journal to keep track on certain experiences and daily notes. Unlike Clancy though, he never decided to show it out to the public. It was only until mysteriously the pages have been scattered throughout the Dema org website (and into the hands of those who have cracked the codes) that the world finally knew about his past.

In this world, Bishops and their children have markings. Torchbearer is the son of a Bishop, specifically Nills. He thinks that if he and the Banditos get rid of the Bishops then his markings would go away. He is also engaged to Clancy. Clancy has not a clue of Torchbearer's true origin. What would happen if Clancy found out Torchbearer's Bishop markings before he is able to get rid of them? Would Clancy still love him and wish to marry him? Dema was a cold awful place. But it was Clancy's home. He lived here for years but something changed. The city has started to feel unfamiliar and Clancy began to understand that he needed to leave. His best friend has become a glorious gone and he was now alone. But escaping was dangerous. He couldn't just walk out. No one comes back with details from beyond the walls. Taken to Dema suddenly, Andelin struggles to hold onto herself in a place built on control and silence. Especially after she has already been struggling mentally. The cycle has, once again, repeated itself. Dema is now ruled over by 9 new Bishops, the most powerful of which being Clancy, or as he is now known, Nova. Once a pragmatic escapee, Clancy now carries out the one thing he swore to denounce. Vialism. The Banditos have found themselves right back where they started. Seen as the enemy, they still try every means possible to bring peace and safety to the people of Dema, but their attempts are futile. When all hope seems lost, another escapee is found. People assume that she is just another citizen looking for a brief reprieve from the oppression. But they were wrong. She is the only one who can save Trench from the iron fists of the Bishops. She is The Øne. First story! I hope that little blurb hooks you in :3 I will try and update this as much as possible, but, as most people do, I have quite a busy life. Nevertheless, updates will come periodically, and on a Tuesday (IF I CAN GET THEM OUT ON TIME) If you find any grammar mistakes, and/or any mistakes in the lore (e.g timeline order) then please let me know!
