Similar to Clancy, the Torchbearer had his own journal to keep track on certain experiences and daily notes. Unlike Clancy though, he never decided to show it out to the public. It was only until mysteriously the pages have been scattered throughout the Dema org website (and into the hands of those who have cracked the codes) that the world finally knew about his past.

I am a citizen of Dema. I am an escapee. I have failed time and time again. I have never seen the world outside this city, but one day I hope to. One day I will. My friend Clancy is like me. He is a citizen of Dema. He is an escapee. He is an exception. He has seen the world outside these imposing walls. He tells me about these people he's seen. He hasn't been able to speak with them yet, but he gets closer with each escape. I'm going to ask him to take me the next time he goes. I want to see these people for myself. I want to know if we can survive outside of Dema. Because I want to live.

(THE ART: Covers (Book cover, part 1-3) are edited together from photos of Twenty One Pilots, and are owned by the band. The illustrations are inspired by their music, and the art of John Rettstat.) This book is a fan work made purely out of love for the source material and consists of three parts and 26 chapters (Not including the epilogue. The reason the book is "ongoing" is because I am in the process of editing the chapters still ;-;) I wrote this book because I really liked the lore and story the band (Twenty One Pilots, duh) wrote, and wanted to write a sort of interpretation of it, a semi-ambiguous conclusion as to what I believe to be head canon (if you have a different head canon, please share it! I love to read other people's variants and interpretations of the story, and it's part of what inspired me and the creative decisions of this fan-fic-book!) The book uses lyrics of songs, though I try to give their placement meaning to enhance the story, and not just feel like a copy-and-paste. This is not meant to be a final definitive canon, and serves as a compilation of events tied together by a story based on dmaorg, the Clancy letters, and who woulda guessed, fanfiction (For those wondering, no, this is not a Joshler story, but I erm... respect those clikkies out there that believe in the hype. No, but seriously, don't believe the hype, there's a whole song about it. It's just a joke. Right?)

Nico is attending morning check-up at a university in Dema when he comes face to face with his worst fear. The new prodigal son, the new Clancy, the new "Hero" of Dema.

The cycle has, once again, repeated itself. Dema is now ruled over by 9 new Bishops, the most powerful of which being Clancy, or as he is now known, Nova. Once a pragmatic escapee, Clancy now carries out the one thing he swore to denounce. Vialism. The Banditos have found themselves right back where they started. Seen as the enemy, they still try every means possible to bring peace and safety to the people of Dema, but their attempts are futile. When all hope seems lost, another escapee is found. People assume that she is just another citizen looking for a brief reprieve from the oppression. But they were wrong. She is the only one who can save Trench from the iron fists of the Bishops. She is The Øne. First story! I hope that little blurb hooks you in :3 I will try and update this as much as possible, but, as most people do, I have quite a busy life. Nevertheless, updates will come periodically, and on a Tuesday (IF I CAN GET THEM OUT ON TIME) If you find any grammar mistakes, and/or any mistakes in the lore (e.g timeline order) then please let me know! I will be adding and changing things, but if there's anything blatantly wrong, call me out on it.

Clancy was an unknowing citizen of DEMA, but he knew something. That there was a group of people who lived outside the walls of DEMA. They were called the Banditos. Clancy needed to know more, more than what he assumed he knew. But Nico didn't let him out the walls on certain terms, so what will Clancy do?

In this world, Bishops and their children have markings. Torchbearer is the son of a Bishop, specifically Nills. He thinks that if he and the Banditos get rid of the Bishops then his markings would go away. He is also engaged to Clancy. Clancy has not a clue of Torchbearer's true origin. What would happen if Clancy found out Torchbearer's Bishop markings before he is able to get rid of them? Would Clancy still love him and wish to marry him? Dema was a cruel place, everyone knew that, but no one knew how cruel they could get. Capturing escapees and turning them into human/creature hybrids? Josh and Tyler thought they were free, but the people in red stopped them, took them, turned them into creatures. horrid mutants. the pain they suffered at the hands of the bishops. till one day Tyler was finally free... this is my adaptation of the twenty one pilots lore, so all but the hybrid versions of Josh and Tyler are owned by twenty one pilots. love yall. some scenes may be a bit graphic but there will not be any smut I refuse to write smut. (the cover will be changed i just haven't got around to drawing it yet)
