In a world where humanity retreated beneath the waves generations ago, healer's apprentice Inara Hollowtide has spent her whole life staring at the black line - the boundary where her Brinehold's light gives out and the true trench-dark begins. She doesn't know why. Not until the morning she finds a dying sea dragon bleeding into the current, reaches out without thinking, and becomes something she never asked to be: bonded, irrevocably, to a creature twenty years alone in the dark and a soul-deep current running both ways between them.

Imagine a world were mind reading is possible. For Rory it is. Thrown into a world of Channellers and deceit, Rory must learn how to harness the "special ability" she's been granted with. All while struggling to not get caught by government officials or Bounty Hunters. And, to make matters worse, (or better, depending on how you look at it) another Channeller may be falling her. All of this seems almost impossible to keep up with, but Rory manages to do a decent job of it. So here is her guide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HR: #260(I don't know when, sometime in December of 2017) 《HEADS UP: It says it has 1 part sometimes, but I promise there's at least 10. Please don't let that stop you from reading and enjoy!!!》

"The entire bloodline, every last one of them has been greedy, violent, corrupted by their own power. Believe me when I say that Princess Selene, even if she were alive, would be no better." - Book 1 Princess Selene Blackburn, heir to the Lunar throne, grows up under the fluctuating influence of her mother and aunt, the corrupted Lunar society, and her morally conscious friends. She has never wanted for anything - not affection, not acceptance, not freedom - and her power gets stronger every day. Once upon another lifetime, she may have been careful with her gift, but Selene grows up knowing she is capable of dazzling and terrible things. Meanwhile, Levana takes Queen Channary's political power bit by bit, making another path to power for herself. There's only one thing the two sisters agree on, and it is that a marriage alliance with the Eastern Commonwealth would be just the thing in sixteen years or so ... How much did Channary's death really change Luna's path, and Levana's too? What if Selene had become a ruler like her mother, or worse, a ruler like her aunt? When she becomes queen, the fate of the world may depend on her character - and her character may depend on an unlikely friendship with Crown Prince Kaito. To change the world, they must see past the politics, and begin to repair the mutiny between Earthens and Lunars ... starting with the two of them. Spoilers for Fairest. The Lunar Chronicles and its characters belong fully to Marissa Meyer. Cover photo does not belong to me.

Several years ago, a device called the Overdrive was released - an augmented reality device that allowed you to change the way you see the world... except that it was a VR device. Thousands of people bought the device, including a young teen named Torin Haikotso. As time went on, people started to notice things. Certain places in the game might not match up with the actual place IRL. There may be a missing tree in the game, or a hill might be oversized. And, as the players dived even deeper and began to unravel the truth... leaked information. And first blood. Now, the hundreds of thousands of people who were wearing the device on the 7th day of the year 2073 roam the streets as mindless zombies, their consciences trapped inside a never-ending dream... except it wasn't a dream. It was their reality. Their Virtual Reality. Fast forward several years later. Most of the people affected had been moved to hospitals. Those that weren't were either still roaming the streets or dead, either from IRL circumstances, or... in-game occurences. When a player is killed in-game, the Overdrive is programmed to explode. And, if the device is removed, it explodes. Battery life isn't a problem, either, as it runs off of light energy, which it stores a substantial amount of. Even light from a lightbulb could power it. As hospitals fill up with Russian-Roulette type terrorists, and thousands of lives at risk, what will become of the world? How will the hundreds of thousands of victims escape the VR device, fittingly named 'the DeathDrive'? And, with a new update to the game, what will be in store for those who are still alive?
