Karin made chocolates for Valentine's day and has Rukia deliver the gift declaring it is chocolate made from friendship. Toshiro wants to return the favor as he's pleased at finally making a friend, but Rukia feels there is more to it and she and other Shinigami start to intervene. Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach. Her spirited and determined nature contrasts with his more reserved personality.

Karin enjoys working at the coffee shop owned by Toshiro's godmother Ise Nanao. The white haired fifteen year old isn't like other guys her age having gone to high school with her older brother Ichigo, and now they're both supposed to be graduating college after the winter semester. One day the pressure of being a child genius as well as trying to live up to his father's expectations causes Toshiro to have a mental break down, and Karin finds out she doesn't know the guy she likes as well as she think she did. Toshiro's mentally out of it after the war with the Quincy. Due to the fact he has had little interaction with his age group Ukitake and Kyoraku end up coming up with the idea that he should interact with the Kurosaki twins and their classmates in hopes that the boy will end up resolving certain aspects of his psychological issues but it is honestly also a gamble.
