In the year 2074, the world is a technological utopia, where perfect city-states guarantee peace, prosperity and the full satisfaction of desires. Paul Newman, a happy and content young man, lives as an ideal cog in this social machine coordinated by MAIA, the artificial intelligence that gave birth to this new world. Everything changes when, precisely on what seemed to be the best day of his life, he finds himself completely excluded from the system and forced to flee to the arid territories outside the city walls. There he will discover that perfection has come at the high price of exclusion and absolute control. A short story about freedom, sacrifice and the possible price of a perfect society.
