Half-Flightless is a story about two boys who are both broken in ways they can't name, a gang war slowly becoming something else, a warehouse on a street that belongs to nobody, and what happens when someone who has stopped believing in the future meets someone who has never been allowed to want one.

"Do you even have a pulse?" Nico suppressed a flinch. Ironically enough, his heart started beating faster. "What's that supposed to mean?" "I guess you haven't looked in a mirror recently." His eyes narrowed at the blond, maybe after sneaking a glance at his ridiculously thin body in an even more ridiculous school uniform that hung off his bones. "Well, that's none of your business and-" Nico panicked for a moment as he searched his wrist, then tried following the teacher's instructions, until he felt the gentle thrum of life underneath his finger. "There! I d-have one." "Really?" Will grabbed his hand (okay, so it was less grabbing and more of a gentle grazing of his fingers against Nico's wrist) and oh. His eyes blew wide, and his heart pounded in his ears. Why did I let him do that? What do I do with my hand now? Can he feel how fast my heart is going? Future doctor Will Solace hummed, and gave his expert opinion, "checks out, I guess." ~ Or an AU where modern day America is a lot more like rural India and Nico di Angelo has to deal with the threat posed by unconventional, annoying-and cute-blond, Will Solace, to the forged sanctity of his life. For those who are unfamiliar with TTRPG, every night you meet up with everyone is a session where you guys go over a portion of a chapter within the campaign. So instead of promising a whole chapter at a time I will try and publish a "session" at a time. Other than those things I hope you guys enjoy it and even though the publication of these sessions might be somewhat sporadic I will do my best to be involved in the comments and respond when appropriate. Subservient to their 'lovers'. Meager dolls to be hit and played around with. Emmy had tried disgustingly hard at trying to break this curse, not wanting to take the path her family did. But you know what they say about curses... Apollo enjoyed feeling empowered. He knew it was bad. The problem wasn't that he liked the feeling, but the way he achieved this feeling of authority. He abused girls. He hit them and manipulated them like they were little dolls. This fed his longing need to feel masculine. Unhealthily masculine. It sort of numbed him. Numbed him from the truth, like the way ice numbs injuries. Now this had all begun with his father, who he could never be 'manly' enough for. He cried at the thought of this. None of his friends knew though. After all, crying isn't manly and without that, what was he?
