This book is based on a true story and focuses on the pain of loving someone who will never love you back. Serena is a sophomore in High School as well, so this story also includes real life pain such as losing friends, the stress of school and the pressure to be perfect, toxic relationships with parents, and many other issues that go unadressed. Although life can be hard, there is also good in it as well. My hope is that Serena's story becomes one that everyone can all relate to in some way.
