After losing everyone he once called family, leaving his homeland became the only way for him to survive the grief.
In the cold, sprawling city of Vancouver, an Alpha in his early thirties built a quiet life from the ruins of tragedy. His parents had died in a devastating car accident years ago, and not long after, his older brother and sister-in-law were taken by a plane crash. The only person left to him was his five-year-old nephew.
So he became a father.
Raising the boy alone in a foreign country was never easy, but the Alpha devoted himself completely to the child. Over the years, "uncle" slowly turned into "dad," and the little boy who once clung to his hand grew into a confident Alpha in his early twenties-strong, protective, and fiercely loyal to the man who raised him.
The son was never truly alone either. Since elementary school, he had been inseparable from two people: one an Alpha, the other an Omega. The three of them grew up together, bound by a friendship that felt closer to fate than coincidence.
Yet there is something unsettling about the way those two look at his father.
The Omega watches the older Alpha with quiet hunger, while the other Alpha studies him with a possessive intensity that borders on dangerous. Their attention is subtle but constant, circling him like predators around something they have already decided belongs to them.
The father notices.
Uncomfortable with the strange tension, he keeps a polite distance from his son's closest friends, believing the unease to be nothing more than his own imagination. But distance only seems to sharpen their interest.
And strangely enough... his son never stops them.
In fact, he might be the one encouraging it.
Because in a world ruled by instinct, hierarchy, and desire, the bond forming around this lonely Alpha may be far darker-and far more inevitable-than he realizes.
