My name is Ahyoka, and this is my story. If you are expecting a happy story stop reading here. This is my story of the pain and suffering caused by the white man. The men who just took whatever they wanted and never thought of the consequences. It never really affected them, it only affected my people. The people I cared most about. To anyone not willing to care about the lives lost, this is where you should stop reading. I don't have a happy ending. I didn't live happily ever after with my husband and children. If you want a happy ending read a different book. This is my trail of horrors.

The RE÷Union roadmap includes five novels as cannon, spanning the 1830s, 40s, 50s, Civil War, and Reconstruction. We start the series with a long lost friend of the Miller family, holed up in a dilapidated cabin, nestled high in the mountains of Colorado around 1885. Staving off the symptoms of a terminal sickness, thoughts become overwhelming and reality sets in that this story is going to die too, in that old cabin, which will probably rot into nothingness, the family's secrets and hidden possessions along with it. Rummaging through crates and boxes of old artwork, journals, photographs and publications, it becomes clear how important this story is. There indeed still is a legacy to leave behind. These heroes (and a few villains) should not be relegated to the stodgy, mundane existence that the general populace insists they knew. What follows is an attempt to piece together the adventure this family shared, across the continent of America and around the world, witnessing unimaginable social and technological change, tied within a network of stunningly courageous and creative family and friends. Premise I was forced against my will to summarize the premise of RE÷Union as follows (to be used as a pitch in an elevator or some other awkward social setting): An adventurous writer-artist duo conspires to share hidden stories about explosive cultural change and westward expansion in the decades leading up to the American Civil War.

"A Genocide begins with the killing of one man- Not for what he's done, but because of who he is." -Kofi Annan Generations & Genocide tells the stories of three parents and their children, of three different minorities facing the atrocities other humans have forced upon them: Native Americans in 1813, African slaves in 1862, and Jewish Germans in 1943.

This story is a fiction work that tells the tale of a young Cherokee girl who is forced to walk the historic Trail of Tears and a boy who comes to America from England. I tried to be historically accurate with the story. It is a tale of love and loss. I have decided to update it twice a week now. Every Sunday and Wednesday, two new chapters will be added to the story line. I hope you all enjoy it!

The Indian Removal Act was signed by President Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830. The law authorized the president to negotiate with southern Indian tribes for their removal to federal territory west of the Mississippi River in exchange for their lands. The act enjoyed strong support from the non-Indian peoples of the South, but there was a large amount of resistance from the Indian tribes. Cherokee tribes came together as an independent nation to stop this relocation, but they were unsuccessful. As part of my American History course in college, I was given a writing prompt to address the government about the Indian Removal Act. This struck me rather deeply, as I have both Native American friends and family across many different tribes. I can't remember the exact wording of the prompt, but I do remember that I strayed a bit from the directions as I had a case of writers block. Luckily however, I managed to move my professor enough to get an A (which wasn't very hard to be honest, because he's a very friendly and understanding guy). The following is an address to the American People from a Cherokee Indian.
