I searched for her all around the house, checked the gate which was still locked. She wasn't in the house. Tired and exhausted I sat on my bed. My eyes tried to search for Roohi everywhere, each corner of the house and then my eyes followed the path towards my mattress which was kept to dust off dirt just below my feet. When I kneeled down at the level of my bed, Roohi was lying under the bed. Dead. She was in a pool of blood around her body. I called her name many a times, she wasn't there to answer me.
She was packed in between the bed and floor. Her eyes were still open and she was in the same position she slept with me. She was speechless, motionless, dead.
