This story doesn't really have a synopsis yet, because I literally just saw this picture and wanted to write a story based off of it, and I wanted to experiment with first person present tense some.

Rachel lost her brother over 3 years ago after he committed suicide because of their parents divorce. He jumped in front of a train. 3 years later she finally builds up the courage to go back to that same track to see her dad all the way in Washington. However something grabs her attention...

Six years ago all the families in America were evaluated to see approximately how great their debt was. Each family who was unable to pay their debt was required give up one or two children to their local Debt Housing Facility. There, the children would work until their families debt to the government was paid off. Kleo was just nine years old when she was shipped off to "The Orphanage," along with many other kids of ages five and up. The young girl worked hard and never questioned anything, until one day when she was asked to question everything. (I'm not putting a lot in the description because I don't want to spoil anything. This story idea has been in my head for a while now, so please enjoy.)
