Kasey Adams was a 18-year-old girl full of life and joy who was just a few weeks away from graduating high school. Nothing could have put her down. A few month later, with her parents and sister dead and a nasty reminder upon her arm, Kasey is attempting to move on for the first time since the fire. After the accident that destroyed her mind, body, and soul, and moving to North Carolina with her estranged aunt, Kasey is determined to get herself back on track, start college, fly under the radar, and hopefully graduate with a nursing degree like her parents always wanted from her. Due to an unfortunate circumstance, she is stuck with a certain baseball captain who makes her feel things she hasn't felt since she lost everything. So when a loved one falls into its clutches, not much good comes out of it. It ruins lives. It puts out love like rain puts out a fire. And it doesn't stop to realize the damage its doing. Those are the things that I'd gathered about the disease that took his life. Those are also the things I hated to think about. They just made me feel emptier inside than I already was. I knew I'd probably never get over him. I knew that I wasn't allowed to anyways. I made a promise. .....But could I keep it?
