But the parents of Dipper and Mable Pines decided they wanted to try fostering a kid in need out of the goodness of their hearts. They end up getting attached and adopting him, only for him to disappear four years later. He is presumed dead, until a certain pair of uncles come across him on the high seas. (Also Percy uses he/they, I will die on this hill)
