My tales of terror and filth will surely shake the meat from your bones and I'll be there to suckle and engorge every blood sodden chunk. Come join me for horror... The first tiny tale has no plot and I didn't want one. It is a conveyance of atmosphere, mood, and psychopathy to provide an 'experience' for the reader. I wrote it years ago but it is so short, I added a second part "Killing Again" so now I might need to develop it.

I have a confession to make. I'm a bit obsessed with death and the macabre. It feels like a guilty secret but I believe that thinking about mortality is integral to understanding ourselves, if only to put the media-driven culture we exist within into perspective. As I wrote Yellow it became obvious that I was using the narrator and protagonist to help me to understand and refine my understanding of my own mortality.

Senior year is a turning point for five Miami teens. Each battles their own demons; drug addiction, alcoholism, kleptomania, violence, and betrayal by family. Even on the first day of school they can't help themselves. However, when Lysandra--the thief of the group-- catches wind of a musical fundraiser, a light turns on. Aside from her bad habit, she plays piano and mixes on a professional level. Having met the other four, she decides to recruit them. Before long, they become a band--and close friends. One show isn't enough. Soon they're booking gigs everywhere. That doesn't mean their demons have gone away. In fact, the closer they come to success, the closer they come to self destruction. Jail time, rehab--almost losing a contract. That's not to mention a closet romance and a murder trial gone wrong. Written as an hour long VH1 interview, it follows the POV of each character, allowing the reader to know the band as individuals as well as a collective.

Shayna Oakley's first job application went better than she expected, they want her to start Monday! Graveyard shift security wasn't her first choice for work, but being out on her own at age eighteen with no parents to speak of, she didn't have much choice. She would either be flipping burgers, or trying to pull all-nighters as she earned a paycheque, preventing herself from living on the streets. Her employer was a bit of an odd ball - Silvester Holliday - but she didn't mind much since she always felt like one. Working security at the abandoned Black Jack's seemed fitting to her, but she never could have imagined her first job would include an animatronic with a deadly past.
