Lyra was just like any other teen that was homeschooled on a barn. Bored. Bored and tired of her boring household and her boring family that wouldn't even pay her a speck of attention, her mother was out of town on business trips most her life, and her father was so ashamed that he couldn't have had another son instead of a daughter. Her brothers were no different, either, her older brother, Brandon, hunched over at his computer desk either scouring e- news articles for any local job opportunities, or just sleeping. Her other brother, Braxton spent all his days staring at a stupid TV screen in the farmhouse or throwing things around after losing a digital soccer game. All the while her youngest brother, Bradley, was the family favourite, always showered with gifts, but besides being an annoying little prick, he was the kindest out of all of them to Her. Being in the situation she's in, Lyra looks for comfort in large tree branches or a nice, soft patch of moss to sit on in the forest besides the barn. Life was pretty calm for a while until she stumbled upon something that wasn't meant for her, turning her world upside down. Or rather, bringing her into a new one.
