Article 54 of the Royal Conduct states that for a royal or high-ranking noble, engaging in a romantic relationship with a commoner- including a jester- is high treason. The legitimacy of the royal bloodline and its prospective alliances is dependent on this premise. Eloise is the crown princess of Atlantia, a country where the political power of the royals is declining. With a drunk Queen, and an irascible King Consort, Eloise is the last royal capable of restoring the trust of their subjects. Sammiel is a court jester. Plucked from obscurity in one of Atlantis's lesser known slums, he swiftly won royal favour, making him a regular at the Queen's revels. Sammiel makes use of his wit to elevate his position and expose the crowns hypocrisy without alerting the inebriated Queen. Eloise is the monarchy's greatest defender, while Sammiel is its staunchest critic. In what world would Article 54 ever come into play?

The Kingdom has been led by the royal family for thirty generations, and has developed a strong tradition and root in the land. Currently, the Emerald Princess was just preparing to become the Emerald Queen, and to marry the Prince of the Kingdom by the Sea. They've been in preparation for this moment their entire lives. But the Kingdom of Gold has other plans. Over the past years, they've developed powerful weapons that they plan to use in their conquest. The Kingdom of Gold has a Prince as well, but they've no friendly connection to the Emerald Kingdom. They want to change that. By force. This epoch is the story of what happens once the Golden Kingdom tries to make this 'peace', and the people from both sides that come together amongst the warring sides. A Quote from Chapter #10: "Alistair nodded, and let him go. "You've come at the wrong time, Sir Liam. Both countries are in a dangerous war, and you, nor Lady Lucinda is safe..." Alistair said, his voice having softened many octaves. Liam slid to the floor for a moment before standing and righting himself. "Get Vaughn. I'll take you to Lucinda soon." Alistair said, frowning suddenly. "Anyway, She's not your betrothed." He then hissed, eyes glaring. "You're not married. Say what you will, She thinks you're dead."

*Completed* We are only a number... How would you feel if when you were born, your whole life was set in front of you? If how you were treated was all dependent on where in the year you were born? Well, welcome to Karyln, formerly known as the United States before World War three and four. In Karyln, parents try to plan pregnancies to end right around the first of the year because when you're born decides how the rest of your life will be. The first boy and girl born gets the number one, they are projected to receive the best life possible. The next boy and girl get the number two, and I think it's pretty easy to guess how the rest goes. The only thing standing between the elite society and their perfect lives, is The Trial. Every year, on the first of June, everybody who has or is having their eighteenth birthday joins. It's a race to the finish line in teams of four and you could either become a higher or lower number depending on when you reach the end. This was created in hope to give those with lower numbers a chance to climb up the ranks. The Trial then developed into more. Pairs of boys and girls with numbers one through thirty live, while the others with numbers of thirty-one and beyond are purged to maintain population control. Oh how our country loves to dig bigger holes for itself. My name is Adaline Grace, and I'm number twenty-two. ~~~~~~~~~~ Awards: 1st Place in The Creative Awards (Third Edition) 1st Place in The Astrologist Awards 2020 2nd Place in The Unknown Writers Awards
