Sci-fi/dystopian novel. Originally written for 2026 ONC, it is now being written to a full length novel. In the near future, an alien enemy destroys Earth's sun. Billions perished except for a few who were able to go underground. Shields were invented to create small communities called Throps so that humans could live above ground. But danger is ever present. An alien species humans referred to as Shrieks, existed in the never ending darkness, coined, the Void. What started out as a protective measure, quickly turned into a profitable one. Hunters called Ghosts, killed Shrieks for profit. The Throps who bagged the most Shrieks receive advanced technology and other monetary rewards. It takes a special kind of person to risk their life just to kill Shrieks. Jaxson McAllister is the one of those people. With Mick, his boyfriend, and Aris, his foster mom, and Trent, Dean and Frank, the Commander of their squad, they bagged the most Shrieks of all the Throps. Their success paved the way for Throp 41 to expand until it became a small city. But all the while, Jaxson is thinking of revenge. He won't rest until every Shriek is dead. So when new orders require the Squad to bring in a live Shriek, Jaxson protests. A worse kind of danger lurks on this mission. When their Skimmer is destroyed by a mysterious type of tech no human has ever seen, they soon learn that it isn't the Shrieks they have to worry about. A far more dangerous enemy is about to emerge. One that will tear apart families and destroy friendships. When people start disappearing, its up to Jaxson and Mick to save everyone. But when Mick is taken too Jaxson moves heaven and earth to get him back. * Present Day chapters begin with "The". Flashback chapters have song titles from my own personal song list. Mature for cursing, violence and gore. Off screen sex.

The night was dark, eerily so, as though no light could bear to penetrate a black cloud. The stars were visible, yet refused to bask their light on the Earth at this hour. It is said they had an unheard agreement whispered between the sun and moon for neither spread the light and beauty it once had, it all died the night the Queen did; the night dance did. The servants in the castle worked sullenly, like a constant voice demotivated them. The townsfolk carried along the drear and many young maidens cried to sleep, as though all life were dead.
