What can you do when the very things that are supposed to grant you freedom are restricted by those superior to you? That is the question Talonpaw has been asking herself for moons. Born into PrideClan, a clan of winged cats, she had been unfortunate enough to have her feathers fledged in dull, making her a lowly Muted while her siblings Galepaw and Brookpaw shine as Luminaura. If she'd said 'it's not fair' once, she'd said it a thousand times. The Muted were bullied and treated unfairly like servants for not being 'pure and radiant' like the Luminaura, with everything they do being restricted. Talonpaw doesn't want to live a life like this, but what choice does she have? When a series of events lands her and PrideClan into a strange new world called Embala, however, the chance for her wings to finally unfurl for herself finally becomes real.

How much are you willing to do to gain something you want, no matter the cost? Delilah isn't used to hearing the word 'no'. Be they the commoner strays that roamed the streets or other lower class softborns, no one dared refuse her. She got everything she wanted with just a pout and a flutter of her eyelashes. She had it all; riches, wealth, and more, what more could she possibly want when she lived a dream every cat wanted? The answer was simple; the one she-cat that she could never, ever have. But it was alright. Delilah would win her over eventually. No one ever said no to her, surely this cat wouldn't be any different. Right?

Pearlkit was born a runt. Not just a runt, a very tiny and weak one. And she was immediately rejected by her father, the TideClan deputy and her mother, the clan's most talented hunter with no one to help her escape from her littermates' jeers. Flowerkit is a tom with a she-cat's name who is picked on constantly by the DuneClan apprentices and kits. His overprotective mother stands up for him so much to the point others whisper he'll never become a warrior. Eclipsekit is the only survivor of his litter, and his mother hates him for being born with a crippled leg. Being one of the most popular cats in the clan, most of JungleClan share her resentment for the kit who didn't know what he did wrong. Corvidkit has no siblings, and the superstitious MoatClan 'knows' she's destined to being bad luck to her clan. The jet-black kit has no idea why she's treated so poorly and others act like she's a curse. When an elder, decides enough is enough, she and another cat take the kits to a pair of magpie-winged cats named Francis and Dixie in the dead of night for them to give the kits to a family to raise out of fear for their safety, and the four are transported to a whole new world; the world of the Guild Of Freedom.
