Something in the woman's face must have completely given away her suspicion, because a short bark of laughter soon followed. "Now, it wouldn't be free, of course... There would be a small price to pay for something like that. But as you wouldn't be the one to pay it... Well, won't you take it, my dear?"
His hand moved up to cup the orphanage worker's cheek next, and though she unconsciously tried to flinch away, he kept her face firmly in place.
"What would you do if she really did die..?"
