Secrets and lies... My name is Elisabeth Marie Beyhan. Just don't ever call me that the name is Lizzie. I lived what you could call a normal life with a normal family. A mom, a dad, and an 11 year old sister named Lucy. I look just like my mom with bright blue eyes and blond wavy curly ish hair. My sister looks more like my dad with glasses and straight brown hair. I'm on the thin side but am more shapely than my sister who is an honest to goodness twig. We lived together in peaceful harmony until as the they always do the skeletons escape from their closet.

My best friend has always had it a little bit worse off than me. She’s had the tougher life, the harder struggle, and definitely the worst luck in relationships. One day, that all changed for her…well okay maybe not all of it, but she definitely lucked out in the relationship department. She was fortunate enough to fall for her best guy friend and they fell in love. There is something a bit unusual about the way she feels, at least for high school, because even the mention of his name brings the goofiest smile to her face. It isn’t just her though! It’s anyone who’s in love! And that’s what makes me sick. I like to call it the Mitchell Effect, named after my friend’s boyfriend (patent pending). The summer of 2012 was when my loneliness was supposed to change. I was supposed to finally win over the heart of my best friend Ryan. I was supposed to have the time of my life at the elementary school down the street. I was supposed to spend my days walking to the ice cream shop with my friends. All of those plans changed, however, when I went to my aunt’s for the summer and succumbed to the Mitchell Effect.
