The match lit up the right half of his face, dimly revealing dark skin and a thin goatee. He stared at the dancing flame through tinted sunglasses, a wicked grin forming across his features. He flicked the match onto the leafy bed, starting a chain reaction. The man stepped back. His shoulders hunched, he was watching as the flames made their way along the ground, inching closer and closer to the pile of sticks. He anxiously craved the moment when the pile would become engulfed in flame, the entire clearing being filled with bright orange light.

Patrick disliked messing up, it was something he had always hated, but being around Pete just made everything worse. How do you sort out a knot of confused feelings?
