A princess born before her time. A warrior in search of immortality. Both humbled by circumstance. *Structured around the 2004 film's sense of romance and dynamic character change instead of the traditional tale from Homer.

[A "Percy Jackson" Fanfiction] In a reality of intertwining mythologies, Eris, the Greek goddess of discord, seeks to submerge the world in an endless war, just as she did millenniums ago with the single golden apple that launched the Trojan War. As prophesied, the only ones who can stop her are a group of demigods whom are unwelcome anywhere else, protected by the only known daughter of Hestia in the monster-capital of western civilization: Houston, Texas.

[[Credits to @rainlikestars for the beautiful artwork. ^^]] "Well... If you really wish to serve the Greek empire, I guess we can take you in and just hope you'll fall in love on the battlefield." Everything seemed like a dream for the people of the kingdom Mycenae, where everything seemed so peaceful, so quiet, almost like heaven. A certain boy who was just learning from his father about how to take care of the sheep, to take over his old man's work as a shepherd, rather dreamy to say So, when the noise back down the mountain was just too loud for them. They went down the hill to check what was it with all the noise, only to discover it was someone sent by Agamemnon to spread the message that a war was about to start soon, everyone getting ready to invade Troy. It was just an issue he had to face: He wasn't in love. He had nothing to protect nor feel strongly about. Which was necessary for the Greek Army. He never considered loving anyone and he doubted he could ever fall in love, especially in a time of war. would this fact change while he fights in war? Time will tell.

The Iliad (sometimes referred to as the Song of Ilion or Song of Ilium) is an ancient Greek epic poem in dactylic hexameter, traditionally attributed to Homer. Set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy (Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. The Iliad is paired with something of a sequel, the Odyssey, also attributed to Homer. Along with the Odyssey, the Iliad is among the oldest extant works of Western literature, and its written version is usually dated to around the 8th century BC. Recent statistical modelling based on language evolution gives a date of 760-710 BC.

This is a poem I wrote for the Rewind The Classics 2021 contest. The challenge was to chose a classic and retell it with a twist. I chose the Iliad, specifically the relationship between Achilles and Briseis within it. I wrote the poem in the format of a tanka. A tanka is a poem in which each line has a certain number of syllables, the sequence is 5, 7, 5, 7, 7. The poem had to be 300 words so the sequence repeats until the very last word of this poem. I chose to expand this poem into a novel which can be found on my profile. The novel is called Achilles&Briseis: A Novel. I hope you check it out! No part of this story may be used to program AI. If you see this story anywhere besides Wattpad please make me aware. This is the only place I post stories. I don't have multiple accounts on this site, so this is the only profile this story should be posted on. Thank you, readers.

Born mortal, shaped by divine, Kallianeira follows the path of many children whose lives have been intertwined with the Gods' ones. Not descendant of deities, but with enough will to become as close to one of them as possible, she will defy gender roles, showing everyone that even a mortal girl can compete with the greatest warriors. With powerful Goddesses on her side, she becomes an example for every woman, guiding and protecting, being a beacon for something that will continue to be chased for millennia. This is a devotional piece of work, made with the intention of worshipping Greek Gods, chanting their acts, and walking beside heroes to bring a new story to intertwine to the ancient ones. It also represents something important as it talks about gender roles and emancipation, something that can help in today's world as well.
