As Abed had mentioned before, he planted geo trafficking devices on everyone in the study group, allowing him to track their whereabouts at any given time. This includes Troy, Abed's best friend, whom Abed has been tracking for over a year. When Abed realizes that Troy has been in Los Angeles for a couple of months already, he is compelled to go down there and investigate the situation for himself. Except he can't because he doesn't have any money or a good enough excuse to tell the rest of the study group about his extended absence during the summer. That is until Fox offers him a job as a production assistant, and offers to subsidize his expenses to Los Angeles. Now with enough money and a compelling excuse, Abed goes on his journey to find Troy in Los Angeles, to get the answers to the questions that constantly troubled his mind, and to hopefully convince him to return to Greendale so that everyone would be reunited and truly happy again.

This is a story of parents and children, love and hate, hope and dismay as characters question if it's impossible to change the fates which have been decreed for them.
