Tyler Oakley is an up and coming reporter for the LA Times, looking to win favor with his boss. He already has an preconceived idea of who Troye Sivan is but when he finds himself talking the star down from a ledge, he finds there is a lot more to the singer than he previously thought. Tyler and Troye meet during their freshman year at Michigan University when they are roomed together. Tyler was a socialite- a fun, loving and caring bleach-blonde boy with countless friends. "We can do this" Troye said "Do you remember when we first got together how we thought we could prove everyone wrong and show them that we could be in a relationship? Remember when we thought we would grow old together and laugh at them for doubting us? We were wrong." I whispered barely audible. "Tyler don't-" Troye started "No, Troye you're young. Go. Live your life and find someone you really love, Sadly that person isn't me, I'm going to leave now please don't follow me because I'm not coming back. I stood up from the bench we were sitting at and I gave him a weak smile. I turned away let go of his touch forever. I walked away I knew I had to let him go. He wasn't worth my tears anymore. He wasn't necessary in my life. Something felt different as I walked away from Troye like a weight was lifted of my shoulders, but I was wrong.
