{Fictional History/Fantasy AU} What if World War I never happened and instead, it was just an European war, the Great War? What if the French Revolution had been the only triumphant revolution against the absolutist monachies? What if the Bolshevik Revolution had started to fail just the day of the Romanov execution? What if Germany was just a confederation of duchies, the Royal German Confederation? What if Atlantis was real but hidden from every other civilisation in the world? -----+++----- In the aftermaths of the Great War, Europe has turned messy. From the war's ashes, the European Empire, ruled by the Habsburgs, has risen. But not everyone accepts the new reality. Some have decided to struggle for freedom. Meanwhile, in the oceans' depths, Atlantis, the hidden pacific civilisation, continues its existence without any contact with outsiders for millennia. Alexei and Gabrielle, both born in Europe, live there, forgetting their other world as they hide. But not for long when their home world suddenly calls them back. A revolution is starting and they both and the Atlants have gained a role in it. A revolution is a way to change the world, but only if it has success. And for success, you have to show courage and faith. {First Book of the Believe in Revolution trilogy} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not copy. "The meek will inherit the earth, child," said Ilya, stooping to Anastasia's level. "Whose side will you be on when that day comes?" ~ After the execution of the royal Romanov family of Russia in 1918, rumors swirled of the surviving Anastasia, youngest daughter and only remaining heir to the throne. Many said she escaped into the woods, yet many more said she suffered the same tragic fate as her family. The state said nothing in response, but they knew the answer. Anastasia is a wolf among the sheep, placed under the wing of stubborn Bolshevik leader Ilya Kazimavich in an attempt to convert her to the ideas of communism. Forced to assume a new Soviet identity as Yekaterina Kazimavich, Ilya struggles to instill communist doctrine in the tsar's only remaining heir, but they need her to win over the monarchists. Torn between her royal roots and Lenin's iron-fisted regime, Anastasia tries to cope with her new identity and come of age in a world where she can be anything but herself. And then she meets a Menshevik rebel and her world flips upside down.

a mismatched group of survivors find themselves holed up in a blizzard bound palace, food runs low and wolves howl down the wind... This story came from a germ that turned into a virus that had to be written out of my system, so like most stories really. After seeing Alberto Giacometti's sculpture: "The Palace at 4 a.m." from 1932 (MoMA) I became enchanted by the idea of wondering alone around a palace at 4 a.m. while show fell on the silent fountains outside.
