Setup/World Lore for a fantasy Western D&d campaign

After years of watching resurrection magic become more and more common, an order of mages has been working behind the scenes to hoard or destroy the material components for such magic, allowing them to essentially control who can and cannot be resurrected. For the average person, this hardly matters, but to adventurers, this makes protecting the world even more difficult. One such group of adventurers, Conrad's Comrades, chooses to continue adventuring anyway, knowing the risks are higher now. And before too long, tragedy strikes. In less than an hour, the rogue loses her entire party, really her family. Without normal methods of resurrection, and with a desire for vengeance, she resorts to drastic measures to get back what she lost, and to see that justice is brought. TW for character death *This is an alternate universe based on a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign.
