Humorous and anecdotal stories loosely based on experiences traveling and working during the 1980's and 90's, in the African offshore oil industry. Drawing on some real and some imagined situations that should never have occurred, but unfortunately did, all too often. Near sinkings, legendary drinking bouts, malaria driven feverish events, and incredulous run-ins with the politics of Angola and Nigeria from officialdom and from the locals. Old boats and oil equipment that should have been out to pasture, but all ending up offshore Africa, along with the same calibre of personnel, who drifted along with that old equipment.

News have spread about there being a new Ranger in the corps. And not just any ordinary man, but a woman. Will she be readily accepted into the group, or denied as an outcast? And does her past connect her to them or was her talk of her early years just a lie? Or does she not fully know the truth herself?

On the way, they find a pub called the "Thug Tug" and saw that the man who stole their key was in there. They barged in and demanded to see the manager. Basically a Ranger's Apprentice short story featuring our favorite characters and a lot of emotions. Disclaimer: Most characters and events referred to belong to John A. Flanagan, author of the entire Ranger's Apprentice series. Is set after 'And About Time Too' in the eleventh book The Lost Stories. Headcanon story and could thus have happened.

A young girl raised at Redmont with stories of the adventures and travels of Will Treaty and Halt the Ranger longs for what they have. At fifteen it finally becomes her reality as she gets accepted as Will's apprentice. But everything isn't as it should be in the kingdom and she suddenly becomes a part of those stories told in front of the fireplace.
