When a bus ride leads you to your destined one

A straight platonic take on Tul Pakorn. A story that my mind made instead of sleeping. Hannah is a traveler who has found her joy in moving consistently to any country she wishes to go. Unconventional, but she loved every bit of it. Other than her native tongue, English was something she was the strongest in and it helped her when entering a new country. She loved languages and was able to learn enough conversational vocabulary to work and live for a few months before moving to the next. How she is able to just pick up her things and move to the next you might ask? She finds those jobs made for people like her, who offer room and board in exchange for labor. These jobs had consisted of in-house care takers, a cleaning lady, a dish washer, a delivery person, a bartender, barista, any entry job you can think of. Right now, Hannah was in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, staying in a stockroom that had a cot for her to sleep. Some may say it was not worth it, but what if you get to wake up and go to sleep seeing a penthouse worthy view of the city? Working at the high-end, rooftop as a server had its perks. What should have been an average working day for her, Hannah ended up being in charge of taking Tul's order and ended up switching between languages as they chatted. "Who are they?" asked my kid, Tan. I was about to ask him to wait, but I spotted a spark of curiosity in his eyes. My focus subsequently averted to a photograph on his hands. The image originated from my forgotten, small notebook that was left opened next to my kid. Hell, I didn't even remember that I had that book, let alone keeping it in my bag. The photograph displayed two familiar figures standing next to each other. It's a bit blurred, but I could see them smiling at the camera lens. Buried memories and emotions gradually emerged both in my mind and my heart. Joy. Sorrow. Disappointment. Sincerity. Love. "Are they your friends?" Tan shot another question, demanding my reply. I gestured my kid to come closer, then embraced him from behind. We stared at the same smiles together. "This is Uncle Max, while the other one is Uncle Tul," I said while pointing at the figures on the photograph. "They are two of the most treasured people in my life."

Been going through some stuff and feeling angsty. This just came to me and I just had to get it out of my head. Mostly, in Tul's POV. For context, I had an idea of Tul's father being a mob boss. Max, a detective, was sent to investigate and gather evidence of the illegal operations led by Papa Pakorn. Over time, Tul fell for Max not knowing the truth. When Tul found out the truth, he questioned everything Max had done for him and wondered if Max's feelings for him were real. For now this a one-shot till I'm either done with my current fic, 'Fight for Peace' or I get an idea for a full story. Either way, wish me luck 😂
