With him still next to me, a million thoughts ran through my head. Was I supposed to say something? This should be like a dream come true, but why do I feel so cold? This is what I wanted right? Since third grade I dreamed of this moment, but why does this dream feel so wrong? No, this is what I want. I rest my head on his shoulder. He moves his head and kisses me on my forehead. I straighten back up, and next thing I know I'm staring at him. He looks over at me, but this time I'm leaning in. More aggressively, I run my fingers through his soft blond hair. This perfect moment is unexpectedly interrupted by an incoming text. Flashed across the screen is "hey beautiful" from Adam. I tried to push the phone under my thigh before he'd notice, but it was too late. He leans in as close as he can get and whispers. "Choose me."
