I shouldn't have told AJ, and I shouldn't tell you now. But I'm going to. This time, I'm doing it right. I'm sharing my diaries along with the letters I wrote AJ, so you can see it wasn't all fun and games. I was a million miles from my family and friends. It got lonely. It got dark. A ballad I wrote imagining the parting of Turin Turambar and Beleg Cuthalion during the events of the Silmarillion when Turin runs away from Doriath and Beleg is sent to find him. Just what was going through their minds when they were separated? This song was written as part of my story 'In Shadows', but won't appear in it for several more chapters. My first attempt at ever writing a song! I am currently in the process of creating the music for it.

The fiercest warrior to ever walk the face of our planet was a girl. A girl who was named Lavender and raised on a farm. A girl who grew up to fight better than most men and make her own rules. She was a free spirit. One who did not listen nor obey society's standards, and sadly, that is what put an end to Lavender. However, her tale is told to young girls all across the world. The Tale of Lavender was a bedtime story, a happy story, a sad story, an inspiring story, and a story that most girls heard before they could even speak. Young girls were expected to play like she would, yet grow up to be civil and peaceful women who obeyed the law and men. One girl though, didn't give up the hope of being a brave and free warrior. In fact, she was so adamant about doing her own thing, she brought back Lavender's spirit. And through her, the fierce warrior lived again. This is not a story about falling in love with a prince and being rejected, it is a story about a girl. A girl with the name of Anya who lived with the spirit of Lavender inside of her.

The Children Of Hurin is retold in poetic verse with a mild twist at the end. Despite getting most of the information from Tolkien, the tale draws from other myth which mastered Tolkien's work, like Sigurd, Beowulf, Oedipus. One of the saddest tragedies, hopefully this can maintain the spirit of the original while speaking to a higher sense of redemption and faith in a merciful power.
