I am 17-year-old Alexandra Dey Presson and am a junior at South Oak High School. My father died two years ago, and Mother dearest blames it on me. And as if that wasn't enough, I have a bit of anxiety. Living a life of cruel luxury has almost no perks.
Oh look! Another average teenage girl walking down the halls of her high school . Nothing is wrong with teenagers who aren't gothic or worshipping Satan, right?
Wrong!
You see, for most "average teenagers", the outside world is fake and only concealing the anxiety and inner struggles behind their mask of "average-ness."
I'm just one of many.
I go through life with all the other "normals" and hope my anxiety doesn't attack in the middle of class, but then there's an accident, and of all the people on earth, guess who's to blame?
I can't help but hope that things get better instead of worse..
But either way there's no turning back.
Other than that, I am a normal teenager, I guess. I have a sweet boyfriend, Nathaniel Pierce, and we play on the same co-ed soccer team. My best friend, Camila Tyler, has almost the same schedule as me and is the only one who seems to actually understand me, or at least the parts she sees of me. My sister, Jenna, is brainwashed by our witch of a mother, but she doesn't realize it.
As for me, I compete in UIL Academics, Debate, Soccer, Basketball, Cross Country, Track & Field, Art, and work for the school's newspaper and yearbook. Anything to keep me out of the house for as long as possible.
And then there was the accident, and although I still had everything to do, my world felt like it became a void. Plus, it doesn't help that everyone blames me.
They think it was on purpose, but I swear it was an accident. How do you prove that, though? Especially when no one believes you.
