A Call The Midwife Story.
In November 1968, Poplar is changing once again. The old East End traditions are giving way to a new decade, and among the busy wards of St. Cuthbert's and the familiar streets served by Nonnatus House, a quiet romance begins to blossom.
Timothy Turner, now a junior doctor, is eager to prove himself. No longer the shy schoolboy who once followed his father on house calls, he faces the pressures of medicine, long hours, and the weight of responsibility that comes with caring for the people of Poplar. Though confident with his patients, Timothy finds himself uncertain in matters of the heart.
Working alongside him is Faye Martin, a dedicated pupil nurse and trainee midwife whose compassion and determination have quickly earned the respect of the sisters and nurses of Nonnatus House. Intelligent, warm-hearted, and fiercely independent, Faye shares Timothy's commitment to serving the community. Their friendship develops naturally through night shifts, emergency deliveries, and moments of laughter amid the hardships of East End life.
As the months pass, Timothy realizes his feelings for Faye have grown into something far deeper than friendship. Yet both are cautious. Their demanding careers leave little room for romance, and each fears risking the bond they already share. Meanwhile, they encounter families facing unexpected pregnancies, struggling marriages, poverty, and social change, experiences that challenge their own understanding of love and commitment.
