It was a typical day in Woodberry. Y/n the sister of the governor, was out foraging for supplies with her group when she stumbled upon a man at the point of death in a shack. He was barely clinging to life. Y/n knew she couldn't leave him to die, so she and her group brought him to their community. The man's name was Merle Dixon, and he was a rough and gruff sort of character. Despite his gruff exterior, Y/n could see that he was a valuable asset to the community. He was a skilled fighter and quickly rose through the ranks to become the second lieutenant, right under the governor himself. Y/n was impressed by his dedication and loyalty, and she found herself drawn to him in a way she hadn't expected. At first, she brushed off her feelings as nothing more than gratitude for the man who had been saved from certain death. Y/n couldn't deny Merle. He was a complex man, with a troubled past and a hard exterior, but underneath it all, Y/n could see a kind and caring soul. But with Merle. He hesitant to act on his feelings. He was a man who had been through so much in his life, and he was afraid to let his guard down and open himself up to the possibility of love. He was used to being on his own, to fending for himself and not relying on anyone else but his brother. The idea of letting someone in, of letting himself be vulnerable, terrify him.
