I am a citizen of Dema. I am an escapee. I have failed time and time again. I have never seen the world outside this city, but one day I hope to. One day I will. My friend Clancy is like me. He is a citizen of Dema. He is an escapee. He is an exception. He has seen the world outside these imposing walls. He tells me about these people he's seen. He hasn't been able to speak with them yet, but he gets closer with each escape. I'm going to ask him to take me the next time he goes. I want to see these people for myself. I want to know if we can survive outside of Dema. Because I want to live. Even Samantha's senior year in LA couldn't be a normal, typical year. At the end of October, she was involved in a car accident that left her seriously injured. But, as Samantha is known to do, she recovered and finished the school year in good spirits. And besides the tumultuous start to the year the rest actually wasn't so bad. Sam made friends, recovered from her injuries, and even found love. Even through a few ups and downs, Sam managed to finish high school on a positive note. A life changing surprise at her graduation party set Samantha on a new course. She's now a Freshman at UCLA, back living with Brendon and Sarah and navigating the college life she never thought she'd live to see if her father had still had custody of her. And Dylan? He's now her fiancé and studying in Ohio. Can their relationship survive the distance? Will Sam adjust to college life?

Oakley ran away from his foster home so many times, he couldn't even count. Nobody understood him, not even his parents. He always knew something was different about him, but nobody cared enough to get him tested for anything. That's why they dumped him off to another family. He had run away for the millionth time when none other than Tyler Joseph saw him on the side of the road, and decided to help him.

Tyler Joseph is sent away by his drummer and management to take a month long break after having several severe panic attack on stage. He goes, but not willing. Flying out and renting a remote and quiet cabin on east coast, hoping some fresh air and relaxing time by himself with fix his problems. But when a strange girl who loves to lie appears walking the dividing line of a small back highway, Tyler doesn't know what to do, but finds himself rolling down his window and offer the spare room in the cabin so she doesn't freeze in the northern cold climate. This strange intoxicated girl agrees, but doesn't seem to want to give Tyler any information about her life, including her name. A month is not a long time to break down walls that seem to be built so high, but Tyler finds himself drawn to this ghost of a girl, who talks about making her life better. But better from what? Will he ever truly get to know her? Or will she slip away like a ghost? Something she says she does a lot.

It's hard to love someone who doesn't love themselves. Josh and Tyler aren't exactly indifferent to each other. They run in different circles. Josh thinks Tyler is a basketball player who's only concern is being on and off with Jenna. Tyler thinks Josh is a weird punk rock kid who's friends with Jenna's best friend Debby. So when they start hanging out because of mutuals, is there a chance that maybe there's more to both of them than meets the eye? Will Tyler's troubles outside of school affect their friendship? Could they be more than just acquaintances?
