Tyler and Josh are touring Blurryface. Each show is helping Tyler face his demons. Josh is struggling with anxiety. His anxiety makes him sick, and Tyler takes care of him.

I am a citizen of Dema. I am an escapee. I have failed time and time again. I have never seen the world outside this city, but one day I hope to. One day I will. My friend Clancy is like me. He is a citizen of Dema. He is an escapee. He is an exception. He has seen the world outside these imposing walls. He tells me about these people he's seen. He hasn't been able to speak with them yet, but he gets closer with each escape. I'm going to ask him to take me the next time he goes. I want to see these people for myself. I want to know if we can survive outside of Dema. Because I want to live.

There is no light where he's from, the only driving force is his deep discomfort with making people hate him. Maybe it would be easier if he let them. Tyler went to college as soon as he could. His life was gentle and full of color, the only struggle he feels on a daily basis is what to wear. He has huge goals and won't let anything stop him. He's just worried about how he can make more friends in the meantime. Tyler isn't vain or judgmental, but he refuses to be anything but perfect at any moment. When Tyler needed an escape from his very busy, fast-paced, overwhelming life in New York City, he jumped at the opportunity to fill in as a fire look out at one of the fire watch towers in Washington State. However, as much as he needed a break from the loud and suffocating life that was filled with expectations in the city, he underestimated the immense solitude and loneliness that came with being a fire look out. Luckily, an unexpected static voice was there to keep him sane. (a short Joshler story!)
