Set in 2007, in the neighborhood of Clancy Way, the story explores the rivalry between the Downbeats and the Clique, two teenage street gangs of different family backgrounds. Both gangs vie for dominance of the neighborhood, and the police try to keep order. Joshua Dun, a former Downbeat and older brother of the gang's leader, Jordan Dun, falls in love with Tyler Joseph, the brother of Zack Joseph, the leader of the Clique. Anytime I ask about what happened before the accident, Tyler just tells me not to worry about it, that nothing too important happened. I don't know why but sometimes I feel like this isn't real. That my whole life is just a show or an illusion. The doctors said that my source of reality was just jacked up after the accident, but I don't know if I believe them. I mean, they won't even tell me what happened to me.
