But what if the stories we inherited were never the whole truth? Tales in the Shadows is a collection of short, twisted retellings inspired by Philippine folklore. Each story takes a familiar myth, legend, or creature and looks beyond the fear surrounding it-to the stories, emotions, and truths that may have been forgotten. The monsters may not always be monsters. The spirits may not always be cruel. And the legends may not always belong to the people who told them. Some stories hide pain. Some hide love. Some hide warnings. And some have been waiting in the shadows for someone to finally listen. These are the tales you thought you knew. These are the tales hiding in the shadows.
