It literally took me about 2 hours mulling over what I would do for this contest's theme. If I were to be quite honest with you all, I REALLY didn't want to do a Lorax thing for this contest, (and the Once-ler's character arc was already too canon for things lmao) but then this idea just... came up. And it was too good and heartbreaking to pass up. Because the first thing I thought up when I saw the contest details was that, "DAMN I'm so gonna write about a Hero turned Villain! But I need an unconventional hero who doesn't really turn evil, just... someone who did something really awry and that in turn makes them the bad guy for doing it." And so I wrote this short fic with a screaming heart because that idea was just perfect. An AU where Ted... well... just read it to find out, I guess? Also hey. What if Alice was really the evil, red queen who controlled Wonderland and all of the storybook kingdoms with a bloody fist? What if the Cheshire cat was a creature called a witch-child - a human-animal hybrid created by magic? Stories are only told from the side of the victor, but things are about to be turned upside down. It is time for the witch-children to revolt against Alice, led by two very young - and unexpected - leaders: Robin Grey-Hood, also known as the Big Bad Wolf, and Chess Shire, or the Cheshire Cat. Together with their friends, Captain Oliver Hook and his lover Ariel, and an unafraid king, Aladdin, the king of thieves, Chess and Robin must work together to take down the Queen of Hearts, Alice Hatter, and to rescue the unfortunate king, Madius Hatter, from the looking glass that Alice trapped him in years ago. They also have to successfully kill Alice to free the kingdoms of her rule, and hopefully inspire change and equality for the witch-children.

I was never crazy. I was smart;ahead of the curb. But this... No one could have predicted this. He's finally done it, the madman. He's broken his one rule, and now, no one is safe...the Batman must be stopped.

What if Dorothy from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz had become a crazed ruler? This is a contest entry for the twist fate challenge. It's kinda short and probably won't be chosen, but it was fun to write. :)

I fell down the rabbit hole on a calm Sunday afternoon. At first, it felt as if I was in a dream, but that soon changed. Everything had become a nightmare. When I followed that rabbit, I was seeking adventure, along with an escape from reality. It was all amazing, until the stupid Queen of Hearts had to come bud in and ruin everything, had to ruin my perfect fantasy. She defeated me...locked them all up, the Hatter, the Hare, Twiddle De, Twiddle Dum, and even the Cheshire Cat. Then she beheaded me. Me! I wasn't going to let her beat me so easily. I was going to save all of them. No. Mater. What! Even if it means dying again and abandoning all I had known before. I was going to get my revenge, rescue my friends, and let her feel the pain she caused me and the rest of Wonderland.

Cinderella is finally free from the wicked grasp of her step family, even if it is only for the night. But one thing can lead to a night filled with regrets, and who's to say Cinderella won't regret a thing?
